Paintless Dent Repair FAQs
What is PDR?
PDR or Paintless Dent Repair is a method of removing minor dents and dings without removing any paint from the vehicle. This is done by massaging the dent out from the back of the panel, or sometimes from the front using specialized tools.
What are the benefits of PDR?
The most important benefit is quality. Paintless Dent Removal is the closest you can get to the dent never happening in the first place. There is no painting, no grinding, no bondo, no fillers, no primers and no replacement panels are needed because your original factory paint is not disturbed.
Cost is also a major benefit of PDR. Hail damage, door ding and minor dent repairs are typically between one-third to one-half the cost of conventional body shop repairs.
Time savings is yet another advantage. We offer a mobile service, so we can come to you. Many smaller dents can be removed in less than an hour at your location.
Environmental concerns are another benefit of PDR. Since this process keeps the original factory paint on your vehicle, there is no need for new paint, chemicals, or other toxins that are used extensively in body shops when repairing dents. PDR is environmentally friendly.
Will a hail damage claim increase my rates?
No. Hail claims are classified under the comprehensive portion of your policy and are considered an act of nature outside of you control.
Do I have to go where my insurance company tells me to go?
No. By law the consumer has the right to choose the repair facility.
Do I have to repair my hail damage and how long do I have to repair it?
A restriction for damage that is not repaired is part of your policy and any future hail claims will be denied until the hail from the first claim is repaired. Typically you have up to one year to file a hail claim. If you made a hail claim, the insurance check normally be good for 180 days depending on the carrier.

Are all dents repairable by paintless dent repair?
The success of paintless dent repair is first determined by the experience of the technician. Secondly, by the depth and location of the damaged area. For example, a large shallow dent is a better candidate than a small sharp dent. We will determine the percentage of removal before the repair process is started. Although we can repair all types of damage, not every dent is a good candidate for paintless dent repair techniques. When the estimate is given we will let you know if we feel like a dent is beyond the capabilities of paintless dent repair. In some instances just "seeing" a deeper dent or damaged area may not be enough to determine if the dent is repairable. There can be unseen factors such as internal bracing and paint condition. In these instances, sometimes the damage is repairable and we are able to proceed and in rare instances the damage is considered unrepairable as the metal has been stretched too far or access too limited or for an accurate paintless dent repair. We will always consult with you on what is best for your vehicle and the repair.
